The Australian business visa program encourages successful business people to settle permanently in Australia and develop new or existing businesses.

Under the two-stage business visa program, applicants are granted a provisional visa for four years, and after successfully meeting the required level of business or investment activity, can make an application for Permanent Residency.

business (provisional) visa requirements:

To be eligible, you will need to show that:

• you have had an overall successful business career
• you have a genuine and realistic commitment to participate in business activities in Australia.

You must also be able to satisfy the criteria for business turnover, net assets, age and English language ability..

State/Territory government sponsorship is also available, at both the provisional and permanent residence stages, with significantly lower criteria, in recognition of sponsorship by a State or Territory government. (For further information, please click here).

business owner visa

To make an application for the Business Owner (provisional) visa, you must currently own and manage a business. State/Territory government sponsorship is also available.

To make an application for the senior executive (provisional) visa, you must be currently employed by a major international business. State/Territory government sponsorship is also available.

Investor visa

To make an application for the investor (provisional) visa, you must be willing to make a significant investment into an Australian Government Security for 4 years. State/Territory government sponsorship is also available.

established business in australia

This visa will provide permanent residency, for those who have already established a business in Australia. In order to be successful, you will need to show that you have had at least 10% ownership of an Australian business for at least 18 months, and pass a points test which incorporates your business attributes, net assets, age and English language ability.

business talent (permanent) visa

This visa will provide a direct path to permanent residency for high calbre business owners, who can satisfy the following criteria:

• assets in business of no less than A$400,000
• have at least 10% in a business with annual turnover of A$3,000,000 or more.
• total assets no less than A$1,500,000
• be sponsored by an Australian State or Territory government.
• English – no requirement.
• be less than 55 years old unless exceptional circumstances exist.
